Prayer for the dead

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.

God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, Your

 providence guides our lives, and by Your command, we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence, their lives  

change but do not end.

we pray those of us that are still left behind; my family,

relatives, and friends. Help them to find peace in the

 time of mourning and to know that no matter what,

 you are always with us through the pain that they may be feeling.

In company with Christ, Who died and now lives,

may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears

 are wiped away. Unite us again in one holy family,

to sing Your praise forever and ever.
